Next year in Jerusalem!

On Sunday, Feb. 11, a group met to discuss planning our next pilgrimage to Israel. It was an enjoyable get-together, as we ate delicious Mediterranean food, watched an ARZA (Association of Reform Zionists of America) promotional video, and viewed slides from our temple’s previous Israel pilgrimage.

I am happy to report that by the end of the meeting, we reached a consensus that we hope to return to Israel in the Spring of 2008.

Planning our next Israel pilgrimage

For nearly 2,000 years, our people dreamed of the time they would be able to return to the land of our ancestors: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob … Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel and Leah. We composed prayers and we wrote poetry, capturing the vision of the land where we dwelled in safety and security with Adonai as our protecting shield.
